IAB Mobile Media Survey Report: How are you Selling Mobile Advertising?

Mobile and tablet advertising are booming businesses.  The IAB estimates that the U.S. mobile ad revenue (including messaging, display, and search) totaled in the range of $550 million to $650 million in 2010, and conversations with mobile media companies suggest ad sales are going even better this year.

However, the mobile industry has relatively few insights into how media companies are currently selling mobile advertising: how sales forces are structured, what pricing models predominate, what types of inventory are most common, and how long sales take are all questions where industry benchmarks would be helpful.

As a first step toward identifying some of these benchmarks, the IAB Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence has prepared a brief report (available to IAB members only) based on a survey of IAB mobile ad selling members.

Members can click here to access the report, or here to download an Excel file containing summary data from the survey.
