The IAB Consumer Protection and Education Campaign is a dedicated fund to finance the construction of a self-regulatory enforcement mechanism under the auspices of the Better Business Bureau; execute a large public education campaign to support consumer and business understanding and appreciation of the interactive advertising industry; and undertake additional coordinated advocacy at the Federal and state level. IAB is nearly half-way to our goal of raising $1 million in cash and we’ve received more than 620 million impressions toward the goal of 1 billion—but we still need your help to reach the targets. Contributions are not tax deductible.
- To launch and maintain a public education campaign, which consist of original research, editorial board outreach, other thought leader communications in various media and possibly paid advertising. It will build on the IAB funded “The Economic Value of the Internet Advertising Ecosystem” study by Harvard Professors John Quelch and John Deighton. It will also build on our “Privacy Matters” consumer privacy education ad campaign.
- To support our ongoing advocacy efforts to combat legislation and regulation that could damage the interactive advertising industry.
- To continue running the “Privacy Matters” campaign, reaching every American Internet user—increasing their knowledge and their safety.
