IAB Committees & Councils: What's Happening

The IAB helps drive the industry forward through the efforts of eleven committees and nine councils in various industry segments. Comprised of some of the brightest minds in their space, these groups work together to develop solutions that improve the interactive advertising and marketing ecosystem.

  • Working group on Digital Audio Tagging
  • Working group to establish Audio Impression definition
  • Audio Agency Day took place February 5th in NYC
  • Planning underway for Digital Content New Fronts (DCNF), beginning April 2014
  • In-image advertising discussions taking place
  • Video Suite education initiative is ongoing



  • Updated Games Platform Status Report being revised by working group led by Sandro Camarao (Mediabrix) and Randy Shaffer (Microsoft)

  • Audience Reach Measurement Definitions are in final review phase

  • Launched February 2013
  • March 25th kickoff meeting at the IAB confirmed mission and goals; 2013 agenda to be developed over the course of Q2
  • Committee seeks ideas and speakers for upcoming Social Media Week in NYC in February, 2014
  • Working group revising Social Media Buyer's Guide





The newly formed Ad Technology Advisory Board announces the first six working groups of the Ad Technology Council:
  • IAB Launches the Programmatic Council to a Packed House
  • 4 Working Groups launching under the new council, to focus on:
    • Building a transparent & fair marketplace
    • Marketplace education and training
    • Standardization of definitions, terminology, and best practices
    • Making Programmatic work for brands
  • Sales Award working group meeting to determine 2012 Award recipients be announced at the IAB Annual Leadership Meeting in February 2013
  • Working group formed to vet an Online Sales/Media Kit being developed with Fusebox
  • Town Hall forums taking place throughout the year
  • Focused on three key initiatives: KPI & Metrics, Compensation and Accounts & Receivable
