Senior Leaders from the worlds of marketing, agencies and media companies converged in New York City on September 24-25, 2007 for the Interactive Advertising Bureau's (IAB) annual MIXX Conference & Expo. The event kicked off with John Hayes, CMO, Global Advertising and Brand Management of The American Express Company sharing how American Express uses a "channel agnostic" approach to join consumers in the ongoing conversation created by the interactive world.

IAB president and CEO, Randall Rothenberg then gave attendees a sneak preview of the first half 2007 Internet Advertising Revenue Report by providing the topline number of nearly $10 billion , representing a 26.8% increase over the same period in 2006.

"MIXX 2007 is the central town hall for our industry," said Mr. Rothenberg, "Over the next two days, CEO's, thought leaders, and senior voices from media, marketing, and agencies—the change agents of our ecosystem—will come together to wrestle with the most important issues we face as an industry."

And Mr. Rothenberg was right.

With its focus on "Innovation in Interactive" the two day conference spotlighted the critical "MIXX" of "Strategy" + "Content" + "Channel". Other highlights of MIXX included Charlie Rose interviewing management guru, Seth Godin, a panel on "The Changing Landscape" featuring the leaders of the major acquired ad exchange servers, "Fitting in Today's Digital World of Misfit Content", a panel on understanding consumers' changing media habits as well as extensive workshops and an exhibit hall packed with the latest marketing and advertising solutions.

MIXX is the Official Interactive Event of Advertising Week 2007 and continued to establish itself as the preeminent event for marketing and agency professionals and the publishers and technology firms who help drive their efforts.

"In an always-on, digital, interactive communications environment, marketing value – now and forever – derives from the "mixx" of strategy plus channel plus content. And that, in turn, requires new forms of collaboration among marketers, agencies, and media companies---MIXX provides this forum for us all," added Mr. Rothenberg.

The MIXX Conference and Expo culminated with the third annual MIXX Awards on September 25, a spectacular multi-media awards show and gala honoring interactive excellence in both creativity and effectiveness—the only juried competition of its kind.
