Ordering Food Goes Mobile

More than two-thirds of media-savvy mobile users have placed online food orders via smartphone or tablet, with half downloading restaurant-specific apps, according to the Mealtime Goes Mobile: Mobile Screens’ Impact on Ordering Takeout and Delivery, research released by the IAB, its Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence, and in partnership with Viggle. Mobile Phone Creative Guidelines Released for Public Comment by MMA and IAB

With the rapid evolution of the mobile marketplace, there is a demand for standards and guidelines to unify the advertising industry and empower creative groups by reducing fragmentation. To expand on current industry accepted ad units, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and the IAB released Mobile Phone Creative Guidelines for public comment, simplifying the development of ad units across the industry. The public comment period closes on Monday, February 25.

To maintain consistency, the Mobile Phone Creative Guidelines supplement the MMA’s widely adopted Universal Mobile Ad Package (UMAP v 2.0), to make buying and selling mobile ads easier and more effective. The guidelines provide additional directives necessary to empower creative shops and publishers to use mobile for more dynamic, rich consumer experiences.
