Attention, Small Publishers: Join Us for the Second Annual Long Tail Alliance Fly-In to Washington, D.C.

Internet Ad Revenues Reach Record Quarterly High of $6.3 Billion in Q4 ’09

The IAB and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP released the IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report for the full year 2009. Though U.S. Internet advertising revenues, at $22.7 billion for the year, showed a 3.4 percent decline from 2008, there are signs of an emergent recovery in the industry. The fourth quarter of 2009 hit a record quarterly high of $6.3 billion, a 2.6 percent increase year-over-year and a 14 percent increase over the third quarter of 2009. Read more »

IAB and NAI Release Technical Specifications for Enhanced Notice to Consumers for Online Behavioral Advertising

Advancing the self-regulatory efforts of the digital advertising and marketing industry and taking a critical step in the ongoing self-regulatory efforts, the IAB and the Network Advertising Initiative released the CLEAR (Control Links for Education and Advertising Responsibly) Ad Notice Technical Specifications, a set of common technical standards enabling enhanced notice in online ads. These technical specifications allow advertisers and ad networks to begin offering a clickable icon in or near online ads that directs users to additional information about online behavioral advertising and choices about such ads.
