Media Buyers and Sellers Are Invited to Comment on Dataset and Business Rules

Billing and invoicing for a digital advertising campaign is a time-consuming, arduous process of manual, error-prone data entry, validation, and reconciliation. In order to reverse this archaic practice, The IAB Ad Operations Council has convened the first ever cross-industry task force for the purpose of defining and agreeing upon the elements of a digital advertising invoice. This group, The Digital Advertising Invoice Taskforce, consists of representatives from agencies, vendors, and publishers and the goal is to produce a standardized digital advertising invoice that both the buy- and sell-side can incorporate into their financial business operations—leading to more efficient, streamlined, and, ultimately, electronic billing practices that close the billing cycle in significantly less time.

The taskforce recently released the digital advertising invoice datasets and business rules for review by agencies and publishers—specifically their financial teams. We encourage your company’s participation during this review process.
