2008 MIXX Awards entries are now being accepted. Submit your work to the only juried awards competition that evaluates interactive distinction in both creativity and effectiveness. The submission deadline is Friday, June 20.


Harnessing the Power of Digital Video:
A Multidimensional View

Creativity and innovation in digital video have ignited a revolution—for advertisers, publishers and consumers. As part of its continuing strategy to address the marketplace demands for leveraging the most important interactive technologies, the IAB has formulated a three dimensional digital video approach:

  • Digital Video Ad Formats Released for Public Comment
    The IAB released Digital Video Ad Formats Guidelines that address the most widely used current in-stream ad products, including linear video ads, non-linear video ads and companion ads. Members of the industry are encouraged to read the proposed guidelines and submit comments here. The comment period ends Friday, May 2. Read more »

  • IAB Leadership Forum: Digital Video — Register Today

UGC and Social Media Advertising Overview: Charting the Emerging Landscape

User-generated content and social media are among the most innovative and tangible ways digital media have transformed the advertising experience for consumers and marketers. The IAB has supplied several resources to facilitate success for marketers, agencies and publishers with this new-found consumer influence.

  • UGC Platform Status Report
    The UGC Platform Status Report, published by the IAB on April 16, helps marketers, agencies and publishers better understand how user-generated content (UGC) and social media platforms have fundamentally altered the digital experience for consumers and advertisers. The report defines UGC and social media, provides a detailed overview of the latest advertising opportunities, and explores case studies of campaigns that have successfully utilized UGC and social media. Upcoming IAB Initiatives Focused on Industry Growth

Multiple players across interactive advertising need to collaborate, even as they compete, in order for the ecosystem to thrive. The IAB works with publishers, marketers, agencies, technology providers and other industry associations to help keep the digital ecosystem on its growth trajectory. With a singular focus on supporting the interactive industry's vitality, IAB committees, work groups and councils are led by the IAB Industry Services Team as they undertake a wide range of initiatives—among the most important: work to define, evaluate and improve processes; formulate and enact interactive advertising standards and guidelines; develop overviews of emerging interactive advertising tactics; and guide growth-oriented research initiatives.
