The IAB Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence released the final version of “Mobile Rich Media Ad Interface Definitions,” or MRAID, empowering seamless in-app advertising across the mobile landscape. This initiative defines a common API (Application Programming Interface) for mobile rich media advertisements, establishing a framework of principles and guidelines to help the marketplace reach new levels of consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness. IAB MIXX Awards Winners Highlight How Engaging Storytelling, Combined with Innovative Technology Create a Potent Formula for Brand Marketers and Agencies

A stellar collection of leading-edge brand marketers, agency creatives, and publishers came together at a sold-out IAB MIXX Awards Gala to celebrate the winners of the seventh annual MIXX Awards, which recognize creativity and impact in interactive advertising. The campaigns and single execution winners in 25 categories were selected by a prestigious jury of senior agency, marketer, and publisher leaders, making the MIXX Awards the only competition judged by a cross-section of luminaries in the interactive advertising ecosystem.

American Express OPEN & CP+B and DIGITAS took home Best in Show, the gala’s top prize, for “Small Business Saturday,” a campaign that in three short weeks was able to develop and launch a brand new shopping day that consumers had never heard of, driving retail sales for small business owners at the beginning of the crucial holiday shopping season.

IAB QAG Day: Bringing the Quality Assurance Guidelines to Digital Agencies

On October 12 more than a dozen IAB QAG (IAB Networks & Exchanges Quality Assurance Guidelines) Ambassadors visited top digital agencies in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Seattle, and San Francisco to educate about the importance of quality in network representation to digital buyers, planners, strategists, and innovators. The ambassadors emphasized IAB QAG as the seal of excellence for leading networks. The nationwide effort touched more than 1,000 agency staffers and started a conversation about brand safety that will extend beyond the Guidelines themselves.
