You know the IAB as the leader in setting standards for the digital advertising world. Now we’re initiating a new standard for digital salespeople: the IAB Digital Media Sales Certification program.

No other program like it exists—a program created by and for industry experts. It raises the level of professionalism by allowing salespeople to demonstrate their knowledge of the most important concepts, guidelines and best practices in interactive advertising. Likewise, companies benefit by ensuring that they have the most knowledgeable sales teams possible.

How to Get Involved

When can I take the test?
The test is given quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Registration is open year-round, and you are encouraged to apply online as soon as possible. See the 2013 calendar here.

Where can I take the test?
The test is administered at computer-based PearsonVUE centers around the world (Click on “Locate a Test Center”).

How much does the exam cost?
$400 for IAB members, $500 for non-members. Exam fees include a $50 non-refundable application fee.

If you have at least two years’ experience in digital media sales (academic credits can be substituted in some cases) and a commitment to upholding ethical industry practices, you are qualified to take the 2-hour, 100 multiple-choice question exam that covers four basic areas:
  • Comprehending the Digital Advertising Ecosystem
  • Selling Digital Media
  • Managing Digital Advertising Campaigns
  • Analyzing Campaign Performances

Practice Test
A 25-question, multiple choice sample test, complete with answer key, is available for free only to applicants who have been accepted as qualified candidates for the Certification examination.

The IAB Digital Media Sales Certification exam is governed and administered separately from other IAB programs. Individuals interested in applying for certification do not need to be IAB members or take any IAB trainings in order to be successful on the Certification exam.
