IAB President and CEO Randall Rothenberg moderated a first-ever all-day forum on June 19, 2012 that was devoted to the topic of “Creativity in Mobile Advertising” at The Cannes Lions annual Festival of Creativity – 6 sessions in all, including a grand finale roundtable that spotlighted “The IAB Creative Showcase: Secrets of the Mobile Superstars.” On-stage discussion during that special session featured Colleen DeCourcy of Socialistic, Thomas Fellger of Iconmobile, and Per Holmkvist of Mobiento. They unveiled stunning examples of the best mobile creative, and revealed critical insights on how to take advantage of the breakthrough opportunities in mobile today.
In addition, Randall Rothenberg provided (and sang) daily video updates; IAB Mobile’s Anna Bager hosted a series of “Mobile Diaries” video interviews on the Croisette with Jesse Haines of Google and Kevin Allen of Kevin Allen Partners to get an inside look at smartphone and tablet usage; and industry reporter Julie Thompson interviewed top influencers in the industry including Maryam Banikarim of Gannett, Matt Biespel & Marlena Peleo Lazar of McDonalds, Christoph Becker of Gyro, Val DiFebo of Deutsch NY, Jackie Ghedine of Ad Age, Shane Ginsberg & Marita Scarti of Organic Inc., Bruno Giussani of TED, Ari Kuschnir of Mssngpeces, David Lang of MindShare Entertainment, Barbara Lippert of MediaPost, Deborah Malone of IAA, Kirk McDonald of PubMatic, David Sable of Y&R, Linda Sawyer of Deutsch, Patrizio Spagnoletto of Yahoo!, Kerry Trainor of Vimeo, Melanie Varley of MEC Global, Ben Winkler of OMD, and Olivia Yabsley & Bridget Jung of Digitas about their thoughts at Cannes Lions 2012 and took along IAB Mobile's Anna Bager for a scooter ride around Cannes.
