IAB NAMES SHERYL DRAIZEN SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL MANAGER
Newly Created Role Bolsters Executive Team
New York, NY (February 2, 2006) - The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) announced today that Sheryl Draizen will assume the newly created position of Senior Vice President, General Manager of the IAB. For the past two years, Ms. Draizen has been a consultant to the IAB and served intermittently as acting Vice President, Events and Vice President, Marketing.
Over the past few years, Sheryl has become an integral part of the IAB, said Greg Stuart, President and CEO, IAB. She is an experienced leader who will keep the IAB focused and structured in order to meet the huge goals of our members and capitalize on the explosive growth the industry is enjoying.
As SVP, General Manager, Ms. Draizen will assume organizational responsibility for the IAB with all divisions including membership, industry initiatives, marketing, research, events and education now reporting directly into her. Ms. Draizen will continue to drive initiatives that help marketers and advertisers better understand and take advantage of interactive advertising.
Ms Draizen, 40, is the founder of Straight Up, a New York-based strategic marketing and business development company. Prior to launching Straight Up, she ran marketing at Guggenheim.com, a for-profit division of the Guggenheim Foundation, developing global strategies, creating the online advertising business model and guiding the technology integration. Before Guggenheim.com, she was at Ad Force, Inc, a CMGI Company, where she managed the marketing around their successful IPO as well as the launch of the company's new offices in Hong Kong.
Ms. Draizen was Director of Product Management for Kensington Technology Group; worked with Fred Hayman, Beverly Hills, launching his "With Love" fragrance line; led Cosmetech International in building brand identity around their newly acquired facilities in Asia; and was responsible for package development and marketing for Epilady USA.
Ms Draizen graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1986.
